Scarborough Women’s Centre is a community-based non-profit organization. Since 1982, we have touched the lives of 170,000 women and their children. Our service users are diverse for race, ethnicity, immigration status, faith, dis/ability, and sexual orientation. They range in age from 15 to 80.
For a high-level orientation to our Centre, please review the SWC Introductory brochure
Many of our service users are dealing with issues related to isolation, abuse, newcomer integration, emotional health, and challenges related to employment. With support from staff, facilitators, volunteers and other women, they can empower themselves to become economically and emotionally independent. Not only will this benefit the individual women, but their families and communities will grow stronger as well.
Most women using our Centre live in Scarborough; other women come from across the GTA. All women are welcome. Here is a flyer, including some women’s stories for your review Introduction to Scarborough Women’s Centre
