All women are welcome to participate in the services and programs at the Centre. Here are some special services of interest to newcomer women:
- Survivors of woman abuse are welcome to ask the Case Manager to request the services of an MCIS interpreter so that they can meet with the Counsellor and express themselves more easily. It may take up to 72 hours to arrange for the interpreter. Her services will be confidential Please visit the Case Management/Counselling page to learn how to get in touch with the Case Manager.
- Women who would like to improve their English skills in conversation and literacy, are welcome to request a tutoring volunteer who will meet with them on a one to one basis in an informal setting. It is important that you have already taken an ESL course before you ask for a tutor. It may take several weeks to be matched with a tutor. You can learn more about the service by visiting the Case Management/Counselling page.
- Information referral volunteers can connect you with community resources for your specific community.
