At Scarborough Women’s Centre, we continue to support women through the COVID-19 pandemic. Our team is taking appropriate measures recommended by government and international agencies to social distance and work entirely remotely. Our physical office is closed to all volunteers and visitors, as staff continue to work remotely and virtually. Below, you can find a breakdown of updates by service.

II. Information and Referrals
A wealth of general information resources are available on our Info & Referrals page here, where there are several resource brochures to meet your needs for housing, financial support, children’s support and other topics.
Please also check out the different resources we have for specific groups of women (e.g. LGBTQ+ women, Senior women) under the “Women” tab, and under the “Empower Yourself” tab on our menu.

Since May 2020, we have been offering a series of web-based information sessions and workshops. They are hosted through the Cisco Webex event platform- you will be able to join through the internet or on the phone. At this time, participation will be anonymous and confidential. You will see the facilitator, and you can ask questions through the moderator/host. Registration is required. We recommend that you download the Webex .exe for better connectivity with the webinar.
Webinars will be offered on most Tuesday afternoons 2:30 to 4, Tuesday evenings 7 to 8:30, Thursday afternoons 2:30 to 4, Thursday evenings 7 to 8:30, and some Saturday mornings. Please note the registration deadlines (Sunday evening for Tuesday webinars, and Tuesday evening for Thursday webinars). Please visit our Workshops & Webinars tab for updates on upcoming webinars. All mentors and mentees have been informed to practice social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic. They continue to meet by phone and on-line.
