INTERESTING READING

Here are some articles written by Tahereh Barati, our Case Manager/Counsellor, which have appeared in our newsletters or annual reports. Tahereh has made some summary comments. Click on a link to read the article.

A Three Dimensional View of Events
In this article, I am going to explain how I think that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other; and how they generate feelings, thoughts, or actions that give us a pessimistic or optimistic view, and how they make our lives fulfilled or miserable. There are a few pointers on enhancing your relationships with self and others.

Assumptions vs. Communication
One of the most threatening habits in communication is making assumptions. We make assumptions when we don't have enough knowledge around someone's behaviors, thoughts or feelings.  In this article you will learn how with a little awareness and patience, you can avoid this common habit in your relationship and make time for the good things.

An Invitation to Develop Your Voice
In this article, you will learn about critical voices and their effects on the lives of individuals. It will encourage you to be more aware of their existence and do something about them.

Invitation to Personal Power
This article will touch briefly on the impact of how society differentiates between men and women, and the role of choices in women's lives. Knowing that women have choices in their lives is one pathway to personal power. Our knowledge about choices comes from our conversations with each other and from our views on our role. Through conversation we can analyze social ideas and realize their impacts on our lives. Therapeutic conversations boost our knowledge and invite us to step into the pathway that leads to personal power.

Resourcefulness
In this article, I emphasize the importance of internal and external resources in our well-being. Our internal resources may not be accessible to us all the time; therefore at times of crisis we may think or feel that our resources are gone. However through counseling meetings, we become more aware of our inner resources and could utilize them effectively.
